ProofGit

Editions and capabilities

ProofGit is the hosted product, at proofgit.com. In the capabilities API below it reports the edition pro.

ProofGit is built on BNLGit ↗, our open-source engine, which is itself built on the open-source Gitea project. BNLGit's source release is planned under AGPL-3.0-or-later; which capabilities the open-source release will include will be published with it.

Self-hosted ProofGit is not offered yet. ProofGit runs as the hosted service only. If running it on your own infrastructure is a requirement rather than a preference, mail hello@proofgit.com.

Ask the service, do not guess

Any client can call this without signing in:

GET /api/v1/bnlgit/capabilities

It returns the running edition, the licence status, the feature-flag map, and the drift thresholds. A script or an agent should read this rather than assume.

The feature flags

These are the exact flag names in the response, and what the hosted service reports for each.

The flag names are technical identifiers and keep their names whatever the product is called.

reranking reports whether the service permits reranking, not whether an operator has switched it on — it is off by default. See Search.

downloadable_pro_bundle reports what the build can do. It does not mean there is something for you to download: self-hosted ProofGit is not offered yet.

Other fields worth knowing

  • license — enforced, licensed, org, licence ID, seat and repo counts, expiry, and a status reason.
  • drift_thresholds — the green/yellow/red percentages and failure counts described in the mirror model, so your tooling reads them rather than hard-coding 90 and 70.
  • credential_redaction — states that credential IDs and references are returned only to repository admins and site admins.
